hia i wonder if anyone could help me in my search ,,it is my great grandfather ,killed in1918 flanders ww1  ,,his name is aparently on the abertillary war memorial,i am curretly on ancestry ,co.   but have come to a bit of a dead end ,  we think  he was born in abercarn ?  and resided in abertilary his wife was bessie davis or davies ,,and his children were ,edith winifred   [izabela ..auntie sis ] george,,iff anyone can give me any info that would be brilliant,,,,,best wishes dave

Hi  If you put Isabella Lavender 1908 on ancestry 1911 census wales the family will come up - they have got William as Wosgne!!!look at original and its Wm

H.A.C. is the Hounerable Artillery Company. The custom at the time was if a man changed regiment, he also changed his Regiemntal Number, which makes tracing someone difficult. Also a lot of WW1 records were destryoed in the Blitz of WW2. The Regiment may have its own museum with the War Diaries, if not then would be worth tryting the National Army Musuem at Chelsea.

Hi I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Austin Lavender who was born in Bedwellty 1913 mothers surname was Shufflebottom I believe. I wonder if you have any link?
