Y Gymraeg ym Mlaenau Gwent (Neges Ddwy.)

*Scroll down for English*

Annwyl gyfaill

Wedi cyfarfod a gefais Chell Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, Caerffili a Blaenau Gwent, rwy'n bwriadu cael cyfarfod ag Alan Burkitt (Alan.Burkitt@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk), Swyddog y Gymraeg dros Flaenau Gwent.

Felly, rwy am gael eich sylwadau chi ar y Gymraeg yma ym Mlaenau Gwent. Beth hoffech chi weld ynglŷn hi? Addysg, digwyddiadau, gwasanaethau, cyfleodd cyfartal - popeth! Hoffwn hefyd glywed diffyg y Gymraeg a gefaist ynglŷn 'r Gymraeg ym Mlaenau Gwent - oedd gwasanaeth y Gymraeg ar gael o gwbl, neu oedd angen gofyn amdano arnoch?

Mi gyhoeddir y Mesur / LCO yn fuan iawn, ac rydym angen dangos bod y Gymraeg ym Mlaenau Gwent yma. Mi fydd Blaenau Gwent ar waelod y map ar ran siaradwyr y Gymraeg yng Nghymru i gyd oni bai am Sir Fynwy (allan o 22 ardal (mae Blaenau Gwent 13.3% ac mae Sir Fynwy 12.9% yn l Cyfrifiad y Deyrnas Unedig 2001)).

Rwy wedi bod yn siarad phobl ddi-Gymraeg a Chymry Cymraeg yn barod, gan holi eu barnau nhw, ac mae bron pawb wedi dweud nid oed dim llawer o hysbysebu, digwyddiadau, neu'r Gymraeg hyd yn oed yma (dyma jyst yn Abertyleri). Mi fydd unrhyw syniadau a/neu sylwadau yn llawer help. Mae popeth yn ddi-enw.

Oes modd anfon hyn at eich ffrindiau eraill ym Mlaenau Gwent? Croesawaf ymatebion yn y Gymraeg neu'r Saesneg. A wnewch chi flaenyrru'r neges hon i siaradwyr y Gymraeg eraill a'r di-Gymraeg hefyd sydd efallai gennych ar eich rhestr ffrindiau chi sy'n byw ym Mlaenau Gwent (neu'n agos ato), os gwelwch yn dda? Rydych yn gallu fy nghysylltu gan adael neges yma.

Hwyl fawr,

Glenn Wall

Hello,

Following a meeting that I had with the Welsh Language Society (Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg), Blaenau Gwent and Caerffili Cell, I intend to have a meeting with Alan Burkitt (Alan.Burkitt@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk), the Welsh Language Officer for Blaenau Gwent.

Therefore, I would like your opinion and comments concerning the Welsh language here in Blaenau Gwent. What would you like to see being done with the Welsh language? Education, events, services, equal opportunities - everything! I would also like to hear of any short-comings you've had in regards to using the Welsh language in Blaenau Gwent - was there a Welsh language service available at all, or did you even have to ask for it?

The LCO will shortly be published, and we need to show that the Welsh language is here in Blaenau Gwent - we would be on the bottom of the map on behalf of Welsh language speakers in Wales if it were not for Monmouthshire (out of 22 districts (Blaenau Gwent has 13.3% of speakers and Monmouthshire has 12.9% according to the 2001 UK Census)).

I've spoken to both Welsh language and non-Welsh language speakers already, asking for their opinions, and almost everyone has said that there is not a lot of advertising, events, or even the Welsh language itself here in Blaenau Gwent (and that's just in Abertyleri). Any ideas and/or comments would be of much help. Everything is confidential.

If you can, please send this on to your friends in Blaenau Gwent (or close to it). I welcome response in Welsh or English. You can contact me by replying here.

Regards,

Glenn Wall
