Does anyone remember what it looked like inside?  I do remember going in a few times as a kid but looking back I have a picture in my head of it kind of being like a 50's american diner???  My mam says it wasnt like that though.  Can anyone remember?  Or does anyone have any pics? Very Happy

Er no.

Unfortunately Young Mol has a bad back and wasn't out over the weekend.

However, some of the lads have described the cafe as a diner.

There were 2 bandits out the back and the pinball machine between the seating area and 'the arcade area'.

Once he's back in harness I'll see if he has some snaps or memorabilia.

There was a jukebox in there too, a rock ola if I remember right, I've got a memory of the springfields and island of dreams in my mind but i was staring intently into my girlfriends eyes at the time so the other bits escape me.....

There were two pinball machines, i remember them fairly well.
The one in particular, was a series of holes numbered one to
Thirty, as i recall.
If you got a line of three balls on the electronic board you won four
Games.
A line of four balls gave you sixteen games and so on.
It was'nt as easy as you may think as the numbers you required
Were not lined up the same on the electric scoreboard as they
Were in the machine.
As you won more games you could double up treble up or more.
We, my mates and i, used to spend hours in there.
Jack who ran the cafe would exchange wins for goods.
We had all kinds of things one favourite was jack's steamed pie's.
Jack was a nice bloke, treated the kid's, and everyone else with
Respect.
It's sad to see the old place shut down now. Sad

Mol's back is better ( either that or he can't stand another weekend without Mr. Bow ).

He's confirmed what's been said regarding the layout and the colour red.

He's going to ask his Mam if there's any photos etc. If so I'll scan them and get them uploaded.
