BE ASHAMED BE VERY ASHAMED......

You know who you are.......
No petrol left at the pumps in Tesco's absoutely pathetic ....
What a town of pathetic panic buying folk
And no doubt everyone will have an excuse for filling there vehicles to the brim it's a joke.
Dunkirk spirit/community spirit well the latter left with coal mines when folk would look out for each other and help each other.
Abertillery twinned with the town of Self self self.

By the way Grangemouth is 297.64 miles from tescos Abertillery(as the crow flies)

Unbelievable isn't it? I'm hoping the temperature doesn't fall below freezing or there won't be a loaf left on the shelves.  Rolling Eyes

Perhaps Abertillery should be twinned with the town of 'Love thy Neighbor'

Get with the times fella, its 2008 not 1942, gone are the days of leaving your front door open and borrowing your neighbors ration book to feed you family.

The motto of the post is 'You Snooze, You Lose' calling people pathetic because they are looking after number one is a little narrow minded.

And no, before you ask, I was not one of the Evil Offenders' I filled up in bristol on Saturday as its 8p per ltr cheaper, (I was there anyway)

I'm not sure narrow-minded is the right phrase. You might feel mrh is being idealistic but how narrow-minded? I think most people would see your attitude as narrow-minded. You might feel society runs best on naked self-interest but not even the Tories seem to believe that anymore.

Get with the times fellah - it's 2008 not 1982. (Cue tirade of abuse...)

Excuse me for not starting the tirade(abuse wise anyway) Martyn, have Tesco indicated that they will not be having any more stocks of Petrol until this dispute is over?Has anyone tried anywhere else?I know you have to drive a mile or so.Personally I was in A & E(not for me) in Neville Hall late last night, the 24 hour garage by Bailey Park  showed no sign of not having any.The narrow minded/idealistic bit I feel
is all about something I don't agree with but is an unfortunate trend today and that is people look after their own. It's a fact, you just have to get on with it,no matter how much you dislike it.Again personally even though I wasn't around in 1942 I was brought up at a time when you could leave your door open and looked after your neighbour and feel society was much better off for it.That's it,I've put away the rose tinted glasses in case I fall getting off the soap box. BTW way I thought the dreaded MT came to power in 1979 not 1982.       Rolling Eyes

Hi Ian

That was the most mild-mannered tirade I've ever been subject to.  Wink 3rd May 1979 was T-day but it took a couple of years for her and her cronies to make the cultural shift that DP looks back on with such fondness.

I've been known to act in self-interest myself by the way. I just wouldn't call someone narrow-minded if they objected to me doing so.

Bought some on Sunday when Tescos was empty. (petrol not bread - didn't need bread as there was no snow).  Wink

Petrol needed to go to work this week, well at least to the new station in Llan. Bought enough for at least three months because I'm a selfish, greedy git. Razz and I need to get to to the golf course. Very Happy

Yes, of course its because of people like me who dare to reply to views I don't agree with, how dare I work all my life contributing both financially and voluntarily to the British Nation, sigh !

I think you need to look at issues such as immigration, lazyitis and poor Government for the cause of our declining economic and social status.

I really think you need to pull your head out of the sand and take a good look around.

The problem today is that everyone knows their rights, but very few know their responsibilities. Let`s hope you aren`t one of the unlucky ones who will suffer at the hands of our I-can-do-what-I-like society.

Hmmm, the first part of your post is very true indeed, well put Sir but I'm not sure I understand the point you are trying to make with the second part?

Are you saying that because I contribute both financially and voluntarily to society you hope I am not a victim of selfish scallies or that because I think people who fill up their cars have every right to do so without being called 'Pathetic' that I am contributing to the decline of society?

Dave Power: Power by name, Dave by nature.
Wasn't there an action figure of you in the 60's?
I suggest a course of anger management before you declare yourself as the prospective BNP candidate for the up-coming elections.
C'mon you're Jeremy Vine really ... more BBC, more!

No, it is because your attitude reminds me of those perfectly fit types who park in the disabled bays because there`s nowhere else to park and it`s raining or those who think zooming up and down the High Street is fun or those who churn up our countryside every weekend because there`s nowhere else to go. I.e. I-want-to-do-it-so-I-will-and-it`s-not-hurting- anybody-and-who-cares-if-it-is-illegal-it`s-a-stupid-law-anyway-and-besides-who`s-going-to-stop-me? That`s why.
