To begin with, some people think I'm exaggerating when I say that like Carolyn, I believe in individual responsibility, the rule of law, and fair play.A few days ago I was arguing with an effete sad sack who was insisting that Carolyn has answers to everything. I tried to convince this craven, nerdy slacker that if anything, I'm now clearly understating the situation she has a "special" perspective on nepotism. The function of a quizmaster, however is to encourage individuals to come out of their cocoons and flourish. But I'm not exaggerating; this quizmaster is a sadist, and if I had my druthers, he would never have had the opportunity to torment, these long suffering websters again. But being a generally genteel person, however, I always bite my tongue. Looking at it on the bright side, he kindly set the quiz but maybe some clues are in order so people like you and me can tell what the heck he's talking about. The only way out of this rat maze of diabolical questions is to make an impartial and well-informed evaluation of the questions and answers. It's that simple. Rolling Eyes Laughing

What did you get wrong Carolyn?

Sticking with your first answer is the first rule of quizes. If you change your mind you normally regret it.

The second rule is to make sure your first answer is correct Confused

My other half and some of his pals thought that some of the questions to be very difficult this year and said he doubted that very few people would enter. I noticed that a good few of them had featured in many TV documentaries or news over the last few weeks. They would not have seen them being in work but if you had then they were remarkably easy.

I got question 6 in politics wrong interpreting oldest as being first, Lenin I knew instantly, I got a photograph of the Mausoleum, had it been in Landmarks I would have left it at that, looking for something more cryptic because of the question mark? I even thought of looking for the Red Square in Waterford, Eire for a clue there as that featured on one of the doucumentaries reciently, think it was "Coming Home" or some such program. I should have placed more emphasis on the politics rather than the history but in checking out the spelling I went off on one. Rolling Eyes

Second question I got wrong was No 4 in 30'40'50' here I had a typical senior moment, I could see his face, his name was on the tip of my tongue, but the name escaped me totally a few more days on this one and it would have come to me but I was not a great fan, the rest of the questions in this category and the classical were easy and I could have found the answers on top of my wardrobe. As for the rest of the stinkers in this category I had to ask the kids and granchildren. Laughing
