Speechless Martyn only when you chose to be
Vote for any party to keep labour out
Who tided up and gave us back  our beautiful valleys environment,
Who gave us Welsh Assembly, Free prescriptions free
hospital parking free bus passes for elderly.
Not Lord Such and his raving loony party
You said that you left labour party over student fees
Who pays student fees today in Wales
Maggie Jones V Peter Law you voted for the man with a grudge
John Hopkins V Trish Law you voted for a loud lone voice
Alun Davies V Jane Sullivan you voted for another Mrs Law
Tis a crying shame Martyn not to blame

Eddie, that is so obviously information fed to you by one of your Labour 'sources' it is laughable. You should hang your head in shame that you allow yourself to be used in that way.

Blaenau Gwent councillors clash over cabinet jobs
2:40pm Monday 15th August 2011

CONFUSION reigns at Blaenau Gwent council as councillors clash over shakeup proposals.

Just over a week ago council leader Des Hillman told the Argus that he intended to work with Labour councillors in the wake of the damning Estyn report which showed the council had failed its children, in a bid to get the authority back on track and offer Labour councillors positions on the cabinet.

Yet a week later, Labour councillors claimed the leader reneged on his offer and called a special meeting to move a vote of no confidence in the leader and deputy leader John Mason.

Cllr Hillman has since claimed he made “offers” to the Labour group, which they turned down, before his own group members objected to them being given executive positions.

This has sparked outrage in the Labour camp, who claim they were offered various positions by Cllr Hillman.

Labour leader Hedley McCarthy and deputy Labour group leader Steve Thomas said Cllr Hillman initially offered the Labour party four executive positions, including the vacant executive member for education post, and Corporate Governance, Regeneration and Environment.

Labour also claim Cllr McCarthy was offered the deputy leadership post.

Cllr Thomas said: “Lets be clear about this, Labour hasn’t turned down anything, I was contacted by Cllr Hillman, not the other way round. Our group took a brave decision to work with a very unpopular administration because we care about Blaenau Gwent and are deeply concerned over its future; it was Cllrs Hillman and Mason who suddenly stopped the dialogue.”

Labour leader Hedley McCarthy said: “Over the past three weeks Des Hillman has informed a lot of people about what he intended to do with regard to Labour members and cabinet positions. It is preposterous for him to attempt to deny it; he actually informed the very people who are carrying out the governance review – in front ofmycolleague Steve Thomas and senior officers of the council – for heavens sake.”

Cllr Thomas added: “This is not about who gets what jobs, councillors and their positions are unimportant in this matter. This should be about providing an effective political team to steer the council through some very dark waters, I fear that the situation could quickly spiral out of control if action is not taken.”

There are just ten days to go before the crunch meeting at Ebbw Vale civic centre on August 25 where Labour will push their vote of no confidence.

As yet, Cllr Hillman has still not appointed new members of the executive, even though he was given the power to do so more than three weeks ago and all eight members of the independent executive remain in place.

Blaenau Gwent executive
Don Wilcox – regeneration

John Rogers – social services

John Taylor – resources

Jason Owen – leisure services

John Mason – corporate governance and service transformation

John Hopkins – crime and disorder and safer communities

Garth Collier – neighbourhood services and housing

Keith Barnes – environmental services

Education executive member Stephen Bard resigned following the Estyn report

Thank you again Mary Ann
What will Cllr Rocke have to say, Headly McCarthy deupty leader
In a bid to get the authority back on track Hillman has to form an alliance with labour and his party wont allow it to happen
Independants up in arms councillors clash over shake up proposals
What comes first an independant councillors executive post or our childrens education
And to Martyn I am not asking but telling you dont accuse me of being a mouthpeice for another
Every word I wrote about your voting habits and your labour bashing antics were mine and mine alone
Some men are children, but  of a larger size
Martyn and Rocke so very like wise

Ooh, Eddie, I just can`t wait for Labour to get back in here in Blaenau Gwent. Top-notch schooling for all; no more winter snow chaos and town centres filled with hanging baskets and pavement cafes (cheers Hedley, here`s looking at yer).

And the best bit is you won`t have to post any more on this board because everything`s just gonna be peachy  Cool  Rolling Eyes

In a way that post hits the nail absolutely smack on Ian.

Boliticians jostling for position at the next elections.

Future of oneself before the future of the children of OUR Valleys.

No-one is blameless, and no-one is totally to blame, yet how many accept their own fault, before trying to pin the blame on their counterparts ?

( I'm sure there's a Biblical connection in there somewhere, in case we get any 'holier than thou' type statements ).

To Cllr Rocke and his off with his head attitude

If you want to abuse a person you will easily find

Rioters hide their faces fear of retribution
Ian and Saeson hide their identity Why?
I very much doubt if either one could organize a free piss up in  a Brewery in the Gorbels of Glasgow on New Years Eve

You accused me of hiding my identity even though I have put my name and address on here (more than you've done by the way). Now it's Ian and Saeson.  Rolling Eyes

You may not be that familiar with internet message boards but it's quite common - indeed it's the norm - to use a nickname. It's not seen as sinister by 99.9% of message board users around the world, but to you it smacks of subterfuge and conspiracy. You should consider therapy Eddie.

And to compare them to rioters is ludicrous and just a little bit insulting.

Why would I need to hide my identity Eddie, for your information my name is Ian.No one insisted that you had to put your full name on here,it was your choice as was mine to only use my first name.If your retribution is to insult me by calling me names, then so be it.At the end of the day I have every right to express my opinion on here as you do(using whatever name I wish to)As for organisation I don't need to qualify my abilities in that field to you but suffice it to say I have for many years run and organised far more important things than a piss up.Moreover why do you take my light hearted contribution in this instance( that was not even in reply to a post of yours) with such umbridge. You may have every right to feel aggrieved at me calling you a big kid,so why not respond to that.Mind you having said that you have once again proved my point by the manner in which you replied anyway. There is another old saying Eddie as you seem so fond of them 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.'

I didn't view the 'fear of retribution' comment as a direct threat Eddie,I hope I am right in thinking it wasn't,also I am not and never have been or will be a rioter.Next time I do organise a piss up I'll send you an invite it seems to me you need to lighten up your attitude a fair bit  Laughing
