Martyn, I am sure it was called Princess Street Post Office. In fact I remember my Aunt Betty, dad's sister, once showing me the cover of her Post Office Savings Book and it had "Princess Street Post Office" as the issuing office. She used to save her pennies there!
Bryan, what is this about the Grammar School mag? Are photocopied copies available? Maybe you should answer that on the Grammar School thread!
Anthony

What decade "Arsene", believe Roseberry was an off shoot of Oak Street.

Hi Stoob sorry for the late reply the shop I was thinking about was on the lane /hill that ran at the rear of the British school and then led up to Gladstone st.
I went to the British school late 60s early 70s.

Can picture the shop you mean, use to walk that way to the County early to mid 60's. Can remember the Baghurst family living around there, not sure they had a shop mind. I'll ask around.

My Dad's oldest sister had her engagement ring and wedding ring from Tom Evans, apparently if you bought both you were given 6 Apostle teaspoons. My aunt was childless and I have her wedding ring and the teaspoons.
