When Aber went Comprehensive the first and second year kids were transferred to Gelli Crug. Brynhyfrryd in Llan was also shut down and some of their pupils ended up at Gelli Crug too and the rest went to the old Abertillery Grammar school.

Can't remember if Bryngwyn was used by Six Bells straight after we left there or if the kids were divided up between the Arrael and Queen Street schools first???
I know we moved from the Six not long after I started up at Gelli and we moved to Ty-Dan-Y-Wal Road in Blaenau Gwent. My folks eventually moved back to the 'Six in the early 80s and are still there
