I am back to 1670 on my Edmunds line and 1584 on my Walden line. I found a number of 1st 2nd and 3rd cousins marrying each other and a number of second and even third marriages where the male and female Walden spouse (Nee John Doe) in a relationship has married a close male Walden relative. Maybe it was common for an unmarried male to take on his brother or cousins relative in marriage after the death of her spouse to look after them and the children. Either way with so many variables to consider I think it alters the equation of the chart above. Laughing

Mine are all ordinary but one or two, is the Warfield in the executioners list of Newgate prison one of yours? I found a victim not an inmate. My Edmunds were all welsh speakers, farmers or miners and small mine owners.

As for the Thomas's like looking for a needle in a haystack for any certainty at this stage Rolling Eyes

I think you have been researching your Warfields for as long as I have been researching my Walden and Edmunds. Although over the last few years I have had more time to devote to family history than I did back then. I knew a number of your family living quite close years ago and naturally your family name often comes up when researching the Walden surname as they are sometimes grouped together eg. Wal -War

http://tilleryonline.myfreeforum.org/about174.html

I cannot see your name on there now but many sites have changed over the years and some are now defunct which is a pity. I am certain it was there, this list was quite extensive years ago and gave more information and detail surrounding the circumstances of the deaths which was quite gruesome maybe they were forced to limit the information given.

I notice now that my Edmunds has also disappeared although I have now found a soundex Walden although probably unconnected to mine. I may have a hard copy somewhere in one of my earlier research folders
