Quite a few watkins lived in six bells up to the 1960s when I left, in the main road, alexandra ? road, also one of the sons lived on the aberbeeg road just above six bells pit. The youngest son now lives (2005) in cwmtillery.
I'm pretty sure that they had a branch of the family out brecon way and one of them married into the Hunt family that lived in Alexandra road as well.
I'm pretty sure the mum kept a shop and there were at least 3/4 sons and one daughter.
Send me an im and I'll let you have the youngest son's phone number. _________________ Regards,

Thank you very much I am working rather blind in this area, but you may have just solved part of the jigsaw puzzle for me, Hunt is also one of the names I am looking for but only found out last night. _________________ My life is no rehearsal There'll be no curtain call encore, so I've thrown my screwed up script away to ad lib my life once more! |

The Watkins we knew that lived in number 9 Bryn Terrace in the 1930,40 & 50s were Frank Watkins, his wife Kate Watkins nee Williams and their two sons Cyril and Derek Watkins. All now are deceased Cyril had two sons that presently live in Cwmbran and Derek had one son living some where in England.
Frank served in the first world war and was wounded three times and worked on the council until he retired.
Hope this helps:

When I lived in Sixbells there were the Watkins Family named in Alexandra Road there was daughter named Kathleen and a few brothers.
There were also various other families who I remember over the years.
Watkins in Richmond Road ,two families one Jim was a local Counciller and another family lived a few doors from him maybe even next door, had a daughter Sheila. Then Watkins in Marlborough Road daughter June can`t remember son`s name
Maybe this helps someone
