Maybe that is what caused the hold up as son as they realised the bridge would not take the weight of the crane and they were all busy underneath putting in supports

| Why didnt they just do that in the first place [ put supports under the bridge] and save themselves a lot of money. |

It has been suggested that had the Foundry Valley been land-filled, then a bridge would not have been necessary. Had this not been done north of the bridge, we'd have no Comprehensive School |

| exactly I dont think we needed all that money being spent on a new bridge couldn't there have been a way to fill the land in it could have been landscaped and used for some where nice to sit and for the kids to play like a village green in the centre of town or small bit of parkland. There is enough ugly buildings as it is what is wrong with some space |

What a headache travelling to and from work...... can't even get out of Abertillery!! with the foundry bridge closed and now station hill out of action and the traffic lights behind the arcade ( what's all that about?) sorry.. feeling a bit grumpy today but I get confused ( or is it just a 'senior moment') as to which way I have to travel to get to work!!! I think I'll go to bed and wake up in the Autumn. Someone please let me know when the roads are back to normal. |

You`re confused?!?! I think the diverted traffic is supposed to go DOWN High St, hence the traffic lights, but there are no signs telling you this so nobody`s doing it, but everyone`s faithfully waiting at the red lights. At the exit to the car park there is a sign saying traffic is signal controlled but misses out the bit about watching for cars coming the wrong way down the one-way system. Expect to hear the sound of crunching metal soon On another note that big crane`s causing quite a stir. |

I was also wondering why they need lights on a one way system .With all the diversions and the large works traffic about the place it's really difficult at busy times to just get from one side of town to the other. _________________ Politics,n.Strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. |

I was stuck in three lanes in High Street earlier today with busses pulled in at the bus station. Absolute chaos going to be an accident soon.
No signs it is an abysmal state of affairs people can't get in or out of Abertillery. No access at Alma Street is causing a headache all round. The footpath is disgusting with the smell of urine and vomit, enough to turn your stomache having to walk over it on the occasions I have had to cross on foot. _________________ 'Unqualified Jedi Knight'.
