When I log on the forum the little note icons on the left and right disappear after viewing a topic-all I can see is a grey square I can view a topic first time using the note icons on the left but after that I can only view by clicking on the link-This does not happen on my mates PC. Sad

Can anyone help please Question

Not quite sure what you mean by the 'note icons' could you try explaining again as I can't get quite what you mean to be honest.

The new post icons on the left disappear- at first they are then then if you click on a topic to read and use backspace to return they go again and all I get is grey squares with a smaller white square in centre where the icon should be- does not happen with the moving ones like on the windfarm topic that remains the same.- Same on the right hand side the square page shape icons beside the names disappear after I have viewed a topic when I use my backspace and go back sometimes they reappear then disappear. Think my problem is in using the backspace on my toolbar as it is okay on my mates Rolling Eyes

I see what you mean now and I tried using the back button to go back to the previous page and it does not happen with mine anyway but try using the 'Main Heading' link because what you are doing really is going back to the previous page that you have already viewed but really you should be clicking on the Main Heading link for the particular topic you have been reading eg: if you have been reading the 'General Discussion' board and eg: your 'Help' topic once you have read the messages regarding your 'Help' topic and you have finished with that particular topic you should really go to the top of the page and you will see the tabs for
NEW TOPIC and POST REPLY- Abertillery Online Discussion Forum - Forum Index -> General Discussion
so you should click on the 'General Discussion' link (you will see it is 'active') if you put your cursor over the 'General Discussion' link and then it will take you back to that particular part of the board ~ but if you don't want to go back to the 'General Discussion' part click on the bit before it

~ which will take you back to the Index if you see what I mean ~ it's a bit tricky to explain without showing you but look for the
- Abertillery Online Discussion Forum - Forum Index -> General Discussion or if you have clicked on the Family History section you will see on the top of the page
- Abertillery Online Discussion Forum - Forum Index -> Family History
so then you would click on the Family History link to go back to the Family History board ~ so do you know what I mean? you will see on the top of the board the tab NEW TOPIC and the tab POST REPLY well the links I am talking about are next to those, it's a bit awkward to explain it's just that might make a difference on your pc maybe.

Thanks Kath it is fine using it on the discusion forum link at the top the way you explained but I think I have probs with my settings somewhere cus I get probs on other forums too.
