Well What a poor display of lights we have up this year for Christmas in town. They dont work a majority of the time.... Well at least they got them up the right way this year. I think its about time that money was spent (and not lined certain people's pockets) and we had some new lights and a more festive display.

In all fairness to BGCBC we had a splendid aray of lights in 2004 in both Church Street and Somerset Street and I have the photos to prove it some were sent in to this site. In 2005 we had the same so it is a case of where have our lights gone this year?

We do have a big problem with anti social behaviour within the town and living close by I did notice that in 2005 many of the lights were destroyed by youths throwing things and smashing the bulbs, I witnesssed the council or whoever were out constantly with cherry pickers trying to replace them in the run up to xmas, over the xmas period I have no idea how many lights were destroyed over the xmas period or whether they could be re-placed this year.
